Granatsplitter Table

A too-dark spot in the Oak gave it away and a magnet proved it: there was some iron in the timber. A woodworker’s nightmare and a designer’s dream. A piece of Shrapnel inside some solid Oak had made it to my studio. I decided to keep it there.

I paired it with another oak piece from the same tree and added a piece of very dark Ash in between the two to make a table that functions both as a dining and a working table.
I cannot imagine the studio without it anymore.
